Jasmine Trias Gets Boost From Record Hawaii Voting

The Honolulu Star-Bulletin reports that while Verizon could not verify the number of phones in each isle household, the telephone company announced yesterday that the Aloha State set a new mark for land-line attempts to vote after Tuesday’s ‘American Idol’ for, most likely, their home state finalist . “Basically, there were just over 5 million call attempts and 1.3 million completions,” said Verizon representative Kevin Laverty. “That was about a 21 percent increase in completions from last week, so we’re doing everything we can to make sure the callers get through. To the best of our knowledge, that is a record for call attempts.”
