JC Chasez’s Latest Is Barely Redeemable

Karen Maylone of The Grand Rapids Press reviewed *NSYNC star JC Chasez’s solo debut ‘Schizophrenic’, giving it only 1 1/2 stars out of 4. Maylone says, “His debut release, ‘Schizophrenic,’ is an attempt to join [Justin Timberlake] in the winner’s circle. But with cheesy, unimaginative lyrics, JC’s album is barely redeemable. A few songs have a bit of punch — ‘Some Girls (Dance With Women)’, ‘She Got Me’, ‘Blowin’ Me Up (With Her Love)’ — but most just flop. It’s as if JC is searching for a sound, for a style, for a lifeline to save him from sinking in the boy-band quicksand.”
