October 12, 2003 – Ben Affleck spoke with ABC’s ‘Nightline’ about his fiance and Yankees cheerleader Jennifer Lopez and how he’s been able to watches the Boston Red Sox games when the couple is together in Georgia. “In my space,” Ben explained. “You know, you can’t ask somebody who’s born in the Bronx not to root for the Yankees, but you can ask them to do it downstairs.” When moderator Chris Bury asked him about the baseball allegiances of his children, Affleck said, “All I can tell you is that there will never be any pinstripes in my home, I can assure you of that.”

Early in the game between the Yankees and Red Sox at Fenway Park, Lopez and Affleck were spotted by the Fox cameras taking in the game from the box seats right next to the Red Sox dugout.
