About time the critics realized what a great actress Lopez is still.

Good for her, very glad to see it. I am interested to see her a meaty role instead of the regular box office fluff she’s mostly known for. She is a great actress, I prefer her acting to her dancing and attempt at dancing anyday. I’d really like to see her take on Oscar worthy roles and see what happens.

I also heard that this movie is good :-) So I’m happy for her, and its good that she is acting in a movie which isn’t a romantic comedy like her usuals… I’m looking forward to it.

Her acting has always garnered positive reviews from critics…except maybe Gigli,’, ‘which was a turd that could not be polished.

lol, you are so right. Even though her movies got positive reviews, I still didn’t feel that she acted as well as she did in Selena. In her past movies, I just saw JLO the actress, not the character she was portraying. I think when critics and people are saying that she’s finally being taken seriously, I think they mean that she’s finally playing in a serious role and is portraying a character, not a famous celebrity playing a character. Because really, by now J.Lo should be doing more serious roles instead of always resorting to the romantic comedy thing. It will make her be more recognized in the long run as a real actress.

I am very glad to see that Jennifer Lopez is finally doing something different, not the usual and typical romantic comedies. She looks much more mature, more focused, and much more humble.
