Globe magazine reports the simple black off the rack dress Jennifer Lopez wore to the MTV Video Music Awards wasn’t the diva’s original choice of attire. It seems J.Lo’s $9,000 beaded gown was late arriving, so she had to ask a friend who was also going to the event to switch dresses. The pal arrived later in the pricey gown, and as thanks, Lopez let the friend keep the dress.
