TV Guide Online reports that according to Jessica Simpson’s manager-dad, Joe Simpson, his daughter is in line to star in a movie adaptation of the TV series ‘I Dream of Jeannie’. With Columbia Pictures moving forward on a film adaptation of ‘Jeannie’, Joe said, “she’d be one of their top contenders.” However, a studio exec stresses, “We’re talking with a wide range of actresses and not negotiating with anyone.”

Dumb and all, I really like Jessica, she’s the one of the very few pop girls out there that young girls can look up to in the sense of self respect!!! Why can’t she experiment in acting???? Is that against the law???? Britney came out in a lousy movie and I think she was decent. Mandy Moore is doing and I think she has a bright acting future. Jessica has the right to try it!
Self respect? Being a sell out is NOT how to teach young girls about self respect. Jessica has admitted to DOING and SAYING what her label wanted, that’s not respecting yourself because you are lying and being a fraud.
I really think she will make a cute Jeannie, she has the perfect look and if you think about it the character is not a very difficult one to play. I have never seen her actually “acting” though. Just Newlyweds and that is reality TV.
