Jessica Simpson Growing Up And Asserting Her Independence

Jessica Simpson tells W magazine writer Whitney McNally that she loves being on her own after ending her 3-year marriage to Nick Lachey. “I just feel alive,” she said. “I feel free. I feel like I can do anything and there’s nobody to answer to but myself.” W’s senior editor McNally tells ‘Access Hollywood’: “Either Nick or her parents did everything for her, and just recently, (she) asked for her own checkbook for the first time. Jessica seems to be growing up and asserting her independence. Whether it’s leaving her husband, buying a house it seems like she doesn’t want others controlling her life. She wants to take charge.”
