Jessica Simpson Not Upset About Nixed Sitcom

Jessica Simpson tells Us Weekly she’s not bothered by news that ABC won’t be picking up her sitcom. “I have so much more going on right now that it’s a good thing,” Simpson reasoned. “I signed on right in the beginning of ‘Newlyweds’, before anything got big. I don’t even want to do TV, I’d rather do movies.” Simpson has ‘The Dukes of Hazzard’ movie in mind, wanting to play Daisy Duke. The nixed sitcom doesn’t mean an end to Jessica’s relationship with ABC though, as Simpson and her hubby Nick Lachey of 98 Degrees have reportedly been signed up for eight more variety shows over the next two years.
