Jessica Simpson Puts Pop Career On The Side Burner

It appears ’s television success has caused the pop princess to turn her back on what launched her career — singing. “The music industry right now, it’s not even fun, so this is just God opening bigger doors,” WENN quotes the ‘Newlyweds’ star admitting. “This way, when I want to focus on music again, it’ll actually be out of love and passion. Musically, my dream is to do what Norah Jones did. I can’t play the piano but to sit next to the piano and just sing… and not have to put on a big elaborate show. I just miss the old Hollywood Bing Crosby-like love for music. Wearing the head mic, the belly top, and doing the dance moves wasn’t the real me.”

Jessica seems like she could be a great actress. She definitely has great comedic timing which is apparent from her show. She has an effortless quality that draws people to her. Jessica might even be more fit as an actress than a pop star. She doesn’t tend to play the pop star role to well but acting may be perfect for her.

How can you tell whether she’s a great actress from her reality series? She’s not acting in it. Being so dumb you’re funny to watch doesn’t make you a great actress.

No one made this girl wear anything she didn’t want. I am so sick of artists like Jessica and Christina turning their backs on what got their foot in the door. No one made them be fakey and do something they normally wouldn’t do. If you’re so starved for fame that you’re willing to sacrifice who you really are, then you deserve to be stuck in a place where you can’t change back. I have no sympathy at all for these artists.

GRR! This is so not even true! Somebody took what Jess said in a recent magazine interview and twisted it completely around. Jess is NOT giving up music! She is releasing another single in February then on March 2nd Sony is re-releasing In This Skin with 3 new songs and a DVD.

With You is one of the biggest hits she’s had in a long time. It’s all over the radio and people are eating it up. If she wasn’t focusing on her music it won’t be such a hit. She’s just in very high demand right now and doing a large array of projects at once. Jessica has many talents but her greatest is still her amazing singing.

I think its so funny how she says she doesn’t want to be sexy in her music (like Sweetest Sin wasn’t about selling sex), but she doesn’t mind stripping for her Newlyweds show and selling lickable body creams. I think this is just her way of saying she’ll go wherever the money is, and right now she is making more money from acting and endorsements than from her singing.

  7. OohSexxy says:

It’s like you don’t understand that this is Hollywood and sex sells, do you get it? Sweetest Sin was about her husband/marriage and when it comes to your husband you can be as sexy as you want. Here we go again, so what if she stripped on the show that was part of her husband’s birthday gift , the show is about their marriage and she probably would of done that regardless cameras or no cameras, and besides do you know if this story is completely true? noooo so relax, who wouldn’t go where the money is? As for the lickable body cream, WHY NOT?

  8. Musicbuff says:

Sweetest Sin was not about sex with her husband, it is about sinful sex with someone she is not supposed to be with. She can use sexual aides with her husband, but I don’t think being married gives her a greater right to market sex to the masses. (The dessert girl likes to sleep naked, the dessert girl is experienced, the dessert girl likes to experiment–the dessert girl has reached a new level of internet tacky.) I would have greater respect for her and her fans if they were more honest about what she is doing. I’m tired of hearing about how she only sings because she wants to be the voice for God and how she doesn’t use sex to sell her music like Britney and Christina because she doesn’t want their level of success. Please.

  9. PandaBear2003 says:

Jessica stated REPEATEDLY she does NOT WANT TO SELL SEX like BRITNEY does. HOWEVER you’re right SEX does sell and she’s a SELL OUT of the highest caliber. She sells sex ALL The time, she dresses half naked, her boobs are ALWAYS hanging out and now she endorses AND created likable fragrances and cosmetics. MORE proof Jessica is a LIAR!

“I just miss the old Hollywood Bing Crosby-like love for music.” Oh god, this is a pure classic of ‘What the f*** is she talking about?’ Department. Miss that old-Bing Crosby-Hollywood type of music, gimme a break! Like she knows all about Bing Crosby and his music. The twit wasn’t even born to know about Bing Crosby. Sound like Ms. Simpson is suffering from the born at the wrong time, wrong place syndrome. I was right all along, she’s not cut out to be pop star and I’m glad that she puts her music career in the back burner. Now if someone can talked her and her *****-whipped husband of hers out of doing a variety show they may do together. Variety comedy shows is the ‘kiss of death’ of everyone’s career. No take that back…let them do a variety show. It’ll be fun of them making them an ass of themselves like their reality show. LOL!
