Jessica Simpson’s Atkins Diet Agony

Don’t look for to endorse the Atkins’ diet. In Touch magazine reports that after the singer was encouraged to go on the diet in 2001 to compete with the slimmer Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, the meat-eggs-and-cheese diet caused her emotional and physical problems. “Atkins really messed me up mentally,” Jessica said, adding that she also suffered from bloating and constipation. After dropping down to 102 pounds and filming a video, she binged on carbs and gained all the weight back. Since then, Simpson has gone on a more reasonable eating plan. “I feel like curves are in,” Simpson said. “They make your outfit look better, and I link having something to pinch.”

    The Atkins diet and the low Carb diet are not the best way to lose weight. You should be eating a lot of different fruits, vegetables, some whole grains, and a little meat. Drinking water also helps. That might not be the fastest way to lose the weight, but it’s the best for your body. It’s a shame Jessica felt she had to lose anything. She was never fat.

    The Atkins diet is so disgusting! it’s a bunch of fat and it’s really unhealthy in the long run. you need carbs for energy. this whole low carb thing is just the biggest moneymaking scam crock that’s ever hit America. well, that and Britney Spears.

    I love carbs. I think people are idiots to go on the Atkins diet. people say they’ve lost pounds but I think they’ll die quicker. that’s what I’ve heard anyway. Jessica doesn’t eat a lot of meat and that’s like me I’m semi-vegetarian. I think that’s healthier than stopping the best meal of all time, spaghetti! (sorry for adding too many personal comments)

    Actually I lost 60lbs on the diet and the book states you must eat more than 1 cup of vegetables a day! I also eat very little meat. The same amount as I did before. I just have chicken with a salad and not lots mash potatoes or macaroni. I also eat other side items like broccoli, cauliflower etc. Vegetables are the biggest component of the Atkins diet. Those who read the book know that. If she was constipated she didn’t eat those veggies and also wasn’t taking vitamins and extra pills for fiber. Its her own fault. Some of the fruits and vegetables you can indulge in are strawberries, blueberries and rasberries. So don’t believe they hype do the research.

    Jessica is actually thinner then Britney. The Atkins diet is bad for you years down the road. A lot of people are going to have heart disease as they age if they stay on this diet. People don’t want to take seriously the fact that Dr. Atkins died from heart disease. Watching your calorie intake, eating lots of fruits and veggies and getting exercise is whats important.

    Dr. Atkins died when he slipped on some ice in NYC and suffered head injuries. Yes, people need to read the book to understand that Dr. Atkins advises against doing the meat, cheese and bacon. He recommends fish, chicken and pork as other alternatives. He said that meat, bacon and cheese were okay for the people who craved it. Unless you have read the book then you will never know who the diet really works.
