J.Lo Explains Why She Revealed Engagement To Diane Sawyer

Billy Bush of Access Hollywood caught up with Jennifer Lopez and asked her whether she stopped Diane Sawyer’s interview to call Ben Affleck when she asked her about the big engagement question. “I didn’t stop it,” she said. “What happened is she was asking me and I was kind of evading the question and saying that we were happy and I didn’t want to talk about it. Then, we did like a whole hour interview and she asked me about several different topics. She was changing the tape and I was like, ‘Oh my God, you’re really grilling me,’ and she is like, ‘Well, people want to know.’ And she is super sweet, I love her, she’s really a great lady. And I was like, ‘I just don’t know if I should. It’s like a weird thing to put it out there and then not to talk about it, but who cares and whatever. I mean it’s our lives, you know, right?’ She is like, ‘Yes, but I am competing with Barbara and Katie and I need this.’ And I was like, ‘But I would have to call Ben.’” Asked what Ben said in response to her phone call, Lopez said, “I called him and he was like, ‘Yeah, go ahead. If you feel like it then do it, if you don’t then don’t. It’s up to you.’”
