Former S Club singer Jo O’Meara has signed a solo management deal with pop mogul Simon Fuller in the hope of breaking the American music market. A source at Fuller’s 19 Management tells The Sun, “Simon wants to make her the next Christina Aguilera – she’s got one of the most powerful voices in pop.”

Why do artists have to be “The Next Britney” or “The Next Christina” or the next anything? Why can’t they just be themselves?
I agree. I don’t want to be the next whatever. They want to be themselves and not constantly compared to others.
I hate when people say the “next Britney or Christina” too. Don’t get me wrong, I love both and have every CD, but who are they really? They haven’t done anything so special that should put them higher than anyone else in the business.
Britney is so wonderful and um Christina is too, but what the f**k happened to originality?
