Joe Simpson Behind Timing Of Split Announcement

A source close to Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson told Bill Zwecker of The Chicago Sun-Times early Thursday that the timing of Simpson and Lachey’s separation announcement was coordinated by Jessica’s father, Joe Simpson — in hopes that some of the impact of the long-expected statement would be lost in the hoopla of the Thanksgiving holiday.
