John Mayer Displays Old-school Pop Sentimentality

James Sullivan of the San Francisco Chronicle reviewed Friday’s sold-out Fillmore show by John Mayer and Norah Jones, praising their sincere songs. Sullivan wrote, “The level of devotion Mayer inspires suggests big commercial potential,” adding “Mayer’s music appeals to many of the same people who idolize Dave Matthews, the people who made David Gray’s ‘White Ladder’ such a surprise hit.” Read more.
