TV Guide Online caught up with ousted ‘American Idol’ finalist John Stevens and asked him if he was relieved he wouldn’t be subject to Simon Cowell’s judging of his performances anymore. “I guess that’s one of the perks of getting voted off,” he responded. “I don’t have to put up with the comments. You’re standing up there in front of millions of people and you’ve got this one guy making fun or giving mean comments. You’ve just gotta stand there and take it ’cause he’s older than you, and you gotta respect that. It’s very, very hard, but you get through it.”
