Elysa Gardner of USA Today reviewed Justin Guarini’s self-titled debut and said the ‘American Idol 1′ runner-up came through with “mostly milquetoast” that will “disappoint fans and critics alike”. Gardner said, “Neither the ‘Idol’ viewers who voted for Guarini nor the industry folks hoping to take credit for making him a star could have had much interest in his individual quirks or gifts.
