Justin Timberlake Adds To Mariah Carey’s ‘Yours’
MTV News reports *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake added verses and harmonies to Mariah Carey’s mid-tempo ‘Yours’ last week. While it’s still pending the heartbreaker’s approval, the song’s producers already smell a hit. “If I were to compare it to something we have done with her in the past, it would be ‘Thank God I Found You,’ but I think ‘Yours’ blows it away,” said Jimmy Jam, who produced the track with partner Terry Lewis. “It is probably one of the best hooks [ever]. I have a 6-year-old, and the first time he heard it, the third time the hook came around, he already knew it.” Read more.

Timberlake Didn’t Need A Pop Hook On ‘Justified’
October 15, 2002 – WENN reports *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake says he was happy to be able to create his debut album ‘Justified’, which was written with more of an R&B tinge without record bosses forcing him to do radio friendly hits. “I’m going to look back on the summer of 2002 as a time when I created something all on my own,” he said. “On this album, I’m totally me for the first time in my life. I didn’t think about needing a good pop hook – screw it man! I didn’t worry about writing a power ballad. It’s a new chapter in my life. This is me.”
