Peter Robinson justifies the unstoppable rise of a pop icon, *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake, in this weekend’s edition of the Guardian. Robinson writes, “It’s his meteoric rise in the UK – where *NSYNC’s success was pretty modest – which has been so astonishing. *NSYNC could never have sold out Wembley Arena; Justin did it on his own, very quickly, and scored a No 1 album along the way. … Justin may be an innocent little country boy, but here’s an artist so single-minded that when it came to his solo album he ditched the man who made him a star (Swedish pop maestro Max Martin) in favor of new mates like the Neptunes.” Read more.
