Justin Timberlake Says Teen Pop Will Never Die

The teen pop genre helped to make *NSYNC star Justin Timberlake a superstar, but now that the genre appears to be fading, what does Timberlake think of the “death of teen pop” talk? “As long as there are teens and as long as we have culture with popular music in it, teen pop will never die,” Timberlake told Next magazine. “It just takes on a different form. Years ago it was Nirvana and then it turned into Britney and now it’s 50 Cent. So, teen pop is whatever the kids in the suburbs are listening to. I don’t really have a formula. I just go in the studio and do what I enjoy doing. And I think that as you grow as a person, you grow as a musician and as a songwriter. That’s how I’ve gone beyond just the teen thing.”
