AAP reports Gold Coast swimming instructor Kate DeAraugo has had a surprise victory in the third series of Australian Idol, winning the contest over Emily Williams. DeAraugo wowed judges and viewers alike throughout the competition, but Williams had been considered the favorite going into the concert at the Sydney Opera House.
