Peisha McPhee, the mother of ‘American Idol’ season five runner-up Katharine McPhee, posted the following message to fans on KatharineFans.com’s message board earlier today:
Dear Katharine fans,
To all you Katpackers and McPhans, ALL OF YOU, that have been so loyal and giving to Katharine throughout this difficult time. KATHARINE
FINALLY HAS BEEN RELEASED FROM HER DOCTOR to JOIN THE TOUR. I know this has been hard for everyone to understand but as a
professional voice coach I can tell you sometimes the ONLY way for a
singer to recover is TOTAL VOCAL REST. Katharine has not spoken for
almost a month. And now is time for celebration and thanks for all the
prayers and good wishes for her. IT HAS WORKED and I am very thankful to realize that sometimes in life, we just need to take time and heal. Katharine was very sad (to say the least) that she missed singing for any of you at the concerts, but sometimes you have to give up things in order to heal.
She will be taping the new Dr. Keith Ablow show in NYC on Wed. and the View on Thursday and joining the tour that night. I think you are the greatest fans in the world and I KNOW that Katharine feels that way. YOU have hung in there with her through thick and thin. I will always be grateful to each and every one of you for your constant love. I know she will continue to bless you with beautiful songs and heartfelt emotion. YOU have helped her to achieve the DREAM she has had since a child and she is young and will continue to give to you.
