Kelly Clarkson Never Pressured To ‘Sex Up’ Image

Jeanine Tan of Channel NewsAsia spoke with ‘American Idol’ champ during her promotional visit to Singapore and asked her if she feels pressured to “sex up” her image, like pop starlets Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. Clarkson stiffened and responded calmly, “There was never any pressure with anything. I think sexy is very different in everyone’s eyes.” Asked if her fans expect to see her wearing, say, something that bares her midriff, she cut in responding, “They’re doing what they want. I would rather somebody wear what they want and be happy. I think they’re perfectly fine and are beautiful girls. And I’m going to wear what I want.”

Kelly, let’s think about this, you win a competition doing the best Mariah Impression you can. You re-record Mariah’s 1st CD and sell…..yet, you still have no image, this is what I think, I’ve seen your Candies ad and you are all sexed up. it’s just a matter of time before the implants increase that breast-size and Lipo-suction makes that 6-pack appear. And as for Hilary Duff, she’s gonna end up turning tricks in Vegas after the USA finds out she’s not talented. All these girls are just alike, after 3 hit CD’s, it’s push-up tits time and showing the mid-driff and then on to the MHH sexual covers. Predictable. At least Madonna never claimed to be Ms. Innocent.

Kelly Clarkson will never have CDs of her own go to #1 Britney did and Britney’s 4th CD is gonna do the same thing!

Kelly Clarkson – enjoy your 15 minutes. It’s going to be over. Soon. Real soon.

Her words sound so familiar!!! Didn’t Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera say things similar to that when they first broke into the music industry? I think the music labels/industries have this big giant book of “What to say when asked…” and each new artist has to remember and memorize for the first few while and once they’re accepted, TAKE OFF THE CLOTHES!!! puppets..

  6. Kizzardkid says:

I really don’t remember Christina saying anything about not sexing up, she has always showed off her body, and she never claimed to be a virgin unlike some popstars.

  7. rachel says:

Actually kizzardkid she did say that. I love Christina and all but I have vibe magazine and the were showing people who they said were on the verge in 99 who have actually made it. And Christina’s quote was like “I don’t believe in showing my ass off and wearing proactive clothes because I want young to girls to have a great self esteem or something like that “. Haha when I read it I laughed my ass off because its really ironic now.

  8. grprincess says:

She said she was a virgin and she was at the time. Things change, she grew up she changed her mind. She never signed a contract guaranteeing she will remain a virgin forever. Christina probably lost her virginity at age 12 so she couldn’t make the claim.

  9. weebongo says:

Kelly already made herself over into a skank like Christina with those Candies adds. It shows that she’s only a follower.

Most “artist” like Hilary Duff and Kelly Clarkson always reveal that they aren’t gonna “sex up” their image when they first come out in the music industry because: 1) Since they are new artist, they HAVE to have a good image or else they wouldn’t have a large fanbase to elevate their career. 2) They first want to shine as the budding divas before they shock people with the “sexier” look. 3) It’s the #1 formula to attracting an audience with a sweet image before it gets tattered by the trash of manipulation. When artists like Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson came out, they declared that they wouldn’t get sexed up, and look at them now. So really, it’s no surprise that almost every female pop artist (whether they have talent are not) are gonna rely mainly on sex and temptation…that’s the music world we are livin’.
