Glenn Gamboa of Newsday reports the success of ‘Ameican Idol’ winner Kelly Clarkson’s debut two-song single, ‘A Moment Like This’ and ‘Before Your Love,’ has ushered in the return of the big ballad, a species so endangered in recent years that superstar balladeers such as Celine Dion, Michael Bolton and Whitney Houston moved off into different, more radio-friendly directions.
