Kevin Richardson Appears On Boston’s Hip Hop Station

Kevin Richardson did an in-studio interview for Boston’s hip hop station Jam’n 94.5. Benji Is Hot from the Backstreet Boys forum at LiveDaily.com summarized the interview and said, “I listened to the last 10 minutes of it because I got outside at like 8:15 and they were talking about how they can’t find any dirt on him, etc., and callers called in and asked about what’s going on with BSB and their solo careers and someone called and asked HOW BsB got together LOL. OH! And Romero played a clip of himself and someone who works at Jam’n singing a Disney song because they wanted to audition for American Idol and they’re like ‘Give us your honest opinion’ and Kevin’s like ‘You need to stick to Djing… but that girl she’s okay but she’s too pitchy.’ Then he was like ‘Damn and you even picked a Disney song, you brought back memories, AWEE!’ lol. He said that BSB aren’t officially broken up, they’re just taking a break to do their stuff on their own but they want to get back into the studio together and record for themselves and the fans because everyone deserves another BsB album. He also said that Nick was putting out ANOTHER album, AJ was working on a solo album, Brian is working on a gospel album, Howie is putting out a Latin album (and Romero goes WHAT?! lol ). Then he said that he’s doing his own stuff with his recording studio in Carlisle, MA (and they kept tooting Kevin’s horn by saying: www.bluejaystudio.com) and he was getting into acting, being on Broadway performing.” Read on for more.

They were also talking about how nice Kevin’s studio looks and he was saying how he has all this equipment and the DJ’s like “Basically, it’s hooked up” and Kev’s like “Yeah… It’s hooked up.” Then Kev was joking around saying that the guy who co-owns it/works with Kev in the studio (I forget which one it was) was in the process of installing a disco ball in the main room to make it a club lol.
Romero also asked Kevin if management or anyone got on the guys about being ‘too chunky’ and Kevin said that management didn’t but the guys themselves did…he was like “Look man! You got a gut! You need to lose weight!” LOL
I don’t know… from the sounds of it, it was live because people were calling in. I don’t know if they had individuals calling in yesterday when he was there or what, but I wasn’t at the studio, I have no idea.
Well, Romero’s nickname is “The Freakin Puerto Rican” so knowing him he was probably shocked that Howie was going back to his ‘routes’ ya know what I mean?

I heard the interview this morning and got to record it. I was really disappointed at that girl who asked how BSB got together. She could have asked Kevin anything, and she asked him a question we’ve all heard the answer to a million times. But she was from Rhode Island like me, so I guess I can forgive her.
Kevin used the “when and if” statement about BSB’s future again, but he did say that him and the rest of the guys thought that they owed themselves and their fans at least one more album. That did give me a lot more hope than I had before.
I believe they also said, and don’t quote me on this because I was still half asleep and the station was a little staticky since it’s over an hour away, that they had Lil’ Pimp (sp?) dress up as Kevin yesterday and go outside to chase the girls and drive them crazy. That might have been what was up with yesterday, Kevin might not have even been there.
