Kevin Richardson Wins Tony Awards Audience Award

Broadway.com announced the winners of the 2003 Audience Awards. Theater fans were able to vote in their choice actors, actresses, performances, plays, musicals, and more. Though ‘Hairspray’ swept the awards, ‘Chicago’ faired well too. Backstreet Boys star Kevin Richardson won the award for Favorite Replacement (Male) for his role as Billy Flynn in the musical ‘Chicago.’ ‘Chicago’ won the award for Favorite Long-Running Broadway Show. Joey Fatone of Nsync was nominated in two categories but lost to Kevin Richardson in one (Favorite Replacement-Male) and Antonio Banderas in the other (Favorite Breakthrough Performance-Male).
