Kevin Smith Talks ‘Jersey Girl’

Paula Zahn spoke with director Kevin Smith about the year in movies and asked him about his upcoming ‘Jersey Girl’ flick starring Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck. Asked if they were a couple during filming he said, “They — I guess they had started dating right before we started rehearsing. So, they had been together for about a week, two weeks, and then suddenly we were rehearsing, and they were a couple, which was kind of great, because they were playing a couple falling in love in movie. So, the onscreen chemistry was mirrored by their offscreen chemistry.” As for whether he had to fake anthing, he insisted, “Didn’t have to fake a thing, and hopefully, next year we’ll be sitting here talking about that movie and not you’re referring to it in ‘Swept Away’ terms.
