Scotland’s new rising KT Tunstall spoke with The Glasgow Daily Record about having to head for London to get her big break. “I did my own thing up in Scotland for many years. I started out busking and playing pub shows and in restaurants for £20 a night,” she explained. “I was in a band and up for staying in Scotland. For a long time I was plugging the band and wanted to put an album out independently and wasn’t that bothered about getting a record deal. But I was feeling frustrated by the fact that I was being limited in getting the music to so few people.”
