Radio 1 reports Kylie Minogue said in a press conference over the weekend that people should go easy on Britney Spears, following her on-camera tears, because she’s young and has a punishing work schedule. “Promotion is probably the most grueling aspect of the job. You pass all these other performers, pop stars, singers and bands, and everyone just looks as tired as everyone else, everyone’s just crossing paths, and they all look as exhausted as you feel,” Minogue said. “I didn’t see the [Diane Sawyer 'Primetime'] interview, but when I was her age I was finding some things pretty difficult as well. I think we forget she’s 21 years-old. It seems like she’s got her family around her, and that’s where I turned when things got difficult for me. I think if you have that you’ll be fine.”

I’m a new Britney Spears fan.’, ‘I’ve never followed anything Britney, never watched her interviews, never read her articles, or followed her career in anyway. I found myself doing all kinds of Britney searches on the net this weekend. I pulled up old magazine articles, old interviews and several of her websites. To put it short, I went on a Britney hunt. I really wanted to see if I could get a feel for who she is, but I didn’t. I don’t think she knows who she is, which is OK, not many 21-year-olds do. I’m 23-years-old and I’m still trying to figure it out. I hope she finds someone soon. It seems like she really wants someone in her life, that’s why she attaches herself to these losers (Fred, Colin, the list goes on). Then again, she may need to work on herself before getting a guy. Stop drinking and smoking, it’s not attractive. I’ve always thought she was a pretty girl, but she is really beautiful. Her album cover is just breath taking to me. I’m definitely buying this CD tomorrow. I think it’s great.
I have all of her CD’s but they don’t compare to this one. I’m not a huge Britney fan but she’s OK, most of the time. I agree that nothing she’s done compares to this CD. I’m 22-years-old. I thought everyone here was like 15-years-old. Nice to here I’m not the only old person here.
So most of the posters are teens, that explains a lot. I’ve been reading the comment section lately and they are just ridiculous from Britney to Mariah to J-Lo to Christina, they go from bad to worse. Wow, I do feel old now.
What Kylie said was true, empathetic, and classy.

Kylie, hold your breath. I think Britney is enjoying her fame. She enjoys every weed, every man in town, every opportunity to get publicity etc.
Kylie is such a good person,,,she is someone who really values the blessings she has had and doesn’t act like a bitch to other female performers…. Britney is also a similar person and they could both teach Christina Aguilera how to deal with her fellow female artists…. Either way I agree with Kylie, that people should not take advantage of Brit now that she has decided to show such a private side of herself to the world. And she is right,,, the girl is only 21….. Go Kylie and Brit!
Kylie is a very smart woman. She has been around a long time, and sadly, unlike Madonna, her career is still booming. She has also gotten a lot of bad press for not having a “Whitney Houston Voice” and she has always come out of top. Britney will do the same, and like it was posted before, most 21 year olds don’t know who they are. Good Luck.
Aww…Kylie is such a sweetheart! I totally agree with her! Britney is only 21–leave the poor girl alone! Don’t you guys think she’s suffered enough already? I can’t imagine being in her shoes and I’m turning 20 in two days!
I found myself following the same path that you just wrote about in becoming a fan of Britney Spears. She’s quite an enigma and I don’t think anyone can truly understand who she is. Her CD is a breath of fresh air.
What one forgets is that Kylie probably experienced if not the same then at least similar things as Britney is right now. For goodness sakes, Britney is only 21! So it would be no surprise then the sympathy that Kylie feels for Britney nor for any other artist out there. You can’t always be happy in front of the camera. It’s impossible to hide your pain and I’m sure Britney’s experienced plenty of it. She’s had a tough year and people need to give her a break for once. She’s only 21 remember? She’s still got a lot of growing up to do.
I can’t help but admire Britney for having the guts to show the public finally her private side. The tears were the most telling of them all. Finally, all that pain was coming out of her because she couldn’t hold it in any longer and pretend that everything was wonderful as some of us have believed before with her past interviews.
