Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, who had a breast-lump scare years ago, issued a statement regarding news that Kylie Minogue has been diagnosed with breast cancer. “Like everyone else, Kylie is in my thoughts and I hope she makes a successful and speedy recovery,” Halliwell said. “No women are immune to breast cancer; it does not discriminate, it can happen to anyone at any time. Awareness is everything and I would hope that this sad news encourages women everywhere to get regular checks.”

March 11, 2005 – Former Spice Girl tells Cosmopolitan magazine that her battles with bulimia and excessive exercising are over. “I don’t want it to be the topic of my life anymore,” Ginger Spice said. “Now if I exercise it has to be for pure fitness and not to lose weight. I have spent too much of my life focusing on that. I’ve done a lot of work to move on.” The singer added, “The healthiest diet is the self-acceptance diet.”
