February 26, 2002 – AAP spoke with Kylie Minogue following her win as the Best Pop Act in Monday’s NME awards in London. In getting the award showing a middle finger in bronze, the singer admitted, “I’m proud to collect this award, but it’s rude – a fist with a finger sticking up. I’ll put it on display with my Brit awards, but when my mother comes over I’ll be putting it in the cupboard. If someone had told me that I’d one day win an NME award I’d never have believed them.”
