Malaysian Home Ministry Bans Kylie Minogue Video
July 11, 2002 – The Star reports Kylie Minogue is ‘too hot’ for the Malaysian Home Ministry – her music video ‘Live in Sydney’ is one of 195 titles that has been banned by the Film Censorship Board. Those convicted of possessing, selling or distributing the films will be fined a minimum of RM5,000 and a maximum of RM30,000 or be jailed for a term not exceeding three years, or both. Board chairman Shaari Mohd Noor said, “In order for us to instil good morals and values in our people, we have to stop importing films that are not appropriate for our country.”
