The New York Post spoke with Britney Spears’ lawyer Michael Friedman about how the singer has washed her hands of Nyla in the face of creditors that are going after her for unpaid bills from the restaurant. “It’s completely absurd and exploitive,” Friedman said. “She clearly doesn’t have any personal responsibility for the restaurant’s debts. To drag Britney into this is completely baseless and a misuse of the judicial process. They’re obviously trying to exploit her celebrity.” He added, “She never put any money in and has never taken any out. She’s very disappointed with the way things were handled, but ultimately she had no choice but to withdraw.”
