Nick Carter’s attorney Marty Singer tells MTV News his client did meet up with his ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton, and that she even went home with him. But, Singer claims, Hilton is upset about what the Backstreet Boys singer said to People magazine and could be seeking retaliation by spreading rumors. Singer said the bruises were caused during an “S&M” photo shoot for Rolling Stone magazine, by a band or a strap around her arm that was too tight. To claim abuse, he said, would be “false and defamatory,” and he faulted the Post of shoddy reporting. Read more.

August 2, 2004 – The New York Daily News reports Paris kept her bruised face hidden as fans mobbed her family’s Hamptons home yesterday for a charity yard sale. Her father Rick refused to say why his 23-year-old daughter came home from Los Angeles Friday with black eyes and a busted lip.
Will Paris Hilton Press Charges Against Nick Carter?
August 1, 2004 – The New York Daily News reports Paris was uncharacteristically elusive and dour-faced at a charity polo match in posh Bridgehampton yesterday, a day after photos surfaced showing her bruised and battered. There was little evidence of the fat lip and black-and-blue marks on her arm that she sported earlier in the week. Family spokeswoman Catherine Saxton wouldn’t comment on whether her injuries were due to an attack by Nick Carter, but a family friend said Hilton’s parents, Rick and Kathy, are “weighing whether to press charges. They know that a trial could bring up a lot of subjects they’d rather avoid.”
