Levy To Mariah: Take Less Money Or Leave
The New York Post reports Mariah Carey was told by new Virgin Records head Alan Levy she could either leave the label or renegotiate her $100 million deal to something substantially less. An insider revealed, “He wasn’t going to pay her all that money – especially after ‘Glitter’ flopped.” As lawyers rework the deal, Carey is being helped now by Sean ‘P.Diddy’ Combs on her next project. As for now, Carey’s rep Cindi Berger says “She’s leaving next week for a European promotional trip [EMI] set up.”
