Liberty X Star Says Reality Pop TV Has Seen Its Day

Pop Idol Will Young and Popstars ‘losers’ Liberty X were winners at the Brit Awards, but Liberty X’s Kevin Simm has added his voice to the fears the music industry have about new pop stars chosen through a television show. “I think reality television pop programs have honestly had their day,” he admitted to the Scottish Daily Record. “I thought the format of ‘Popstars: The Rivals’ was diabolical. That was its downfall. Getting the girls and boys to slag each other off just turned me completely off. They should have concentrated more on the music and not making the hopefuls take pot shots at each other.”
