Stuart Derdeyn of the Vancouver Province spoke with Lillix ahead of tomorrow’s release of their debut ‘Falling Uphill’. Questioned about the challenge the band faces in being compared to Avril Lavigne, especially when their first hit ‘It’s About Time’ sounds a lot like Lavigne’s ‘Complicated’, Lacey-Lee Evin voices frustration. “What can you do?,” she asked. “The rest of the album sounds completely different from that song.” Bandmate Louise Burns added, “There should be more women in music than there are. Are all the guy bands compared to each other the same way?” Whatever the band had to say to Derdeyn, it doesn’t appear to have effected his impression of their album in a positive way, as he gave the disc only a rating of 2.5 out of 5 stars.
