Lily Allen checked in with fans onher blog at Myspace on Thursday (August 17) ahead of her Big Chill performance. “I watched the documetary of ‘Glastonbury’ a few weeks ago, and seeing footage of bands like Primal Scream playing Glastonbury made me want to go and write rock and roll anthems, just so I could feed my ego by seeing all those people jumping up and down to my songs. I quickly got over it and realized my songs seem to be pushing some people’s buttons, without being jump up anthems and just assumed rock gods have more fun.” She later wrote, “Anyway my Glastonbury (even though it wasn’t Glastonbury) dream came true, people did jump up and down and we (the band) had a great time. My dad came back to see me after and he was sooo proud he was almost crying, the only other time he saw me play was at YoYo’s in May and it was the worst show I did there, so I was just over the moon that it all went so well. It’s funny how making your parents proud of you has such an effect, but thats another story.” Read more.
