Linda Perry defended her move to work with Kelly Osbourne on her forthcoming sophomore album ‘Sleeping in the Nothing’. She said in a posting at one of her fan groups: “As for the ‘why is Linda working with Kelly Osbourne’ comment, when or if you choose to buy her new record you will see why I worked with her. She is a very talented girl. It was by far the most fun record I have done to date. She can sing, she can write, and she is her own person. Please don’t be so quick to judge. Let this album speak for itself. I love her new record, and I can’t wait for people to hear it, you will be quite shocked. I have been working on a lot of different projects and I will only work on something I believe in.”
Kelly Osbourne: My Debut Album Was Crap
Kelly Osbourne spoke with Spin magazine and was dismissive of her debut album ‘Shut Up’. “My record label thought, ‘Oh, she’s really cool. She’s in ‘The Osbournes’. We want to sign her and make money off her. But the album was crap… I felt like just another Lindsay Lohan, Ashlee Simpson, Avril Lavigne, and that’s just not who I am at all.” So on her sophomore album ‘Sleeping in the Nothing’, she’s working with Linda Perry and is being musically influenced by Berlin singer Terri Nunn.
