Newsweek caught up with Lisa Marie Presley for a Q&A and asked the singer about her short-lived marriage to Michael Jackson, and whether she grasped that it was going to be a media circus going in. “I was naive on that front,” she admitted. “I was in this constant struggle that went something like this: a man who’s with me who has nothing is gonna be stomped on and have no identity left by the time [the press] get done with him. He’ll be Mr. Fu**in’ Presley. I thought, I need to be with someone bigger than I am—or at least comparable—so they don’t get trampled. Michael wanted to meet me earlier in my life, and I said, ‘No way.’ I thought he was a freak, and I had no interest in meeting him. But when I finally did, he immediately dashed any preconceived idea I had about him. We had a perfectly normal conversation, and I completely forgot who he was within 20 minutes. I actually did fall in love with him, but I don’t know what was on his menu.”

He was a superstar in his own right. Not the child of a superstar. He was talented and very gifted. She has yet to find a niche in life.
Yep, and he was her “BETTER Half,” so she should never have forgotten that! This is exactly why she BEGGED him to take her back after they divorced. She knew she had lost a GOOD man. Heck, she lost a GREAT man! A man she loved and he loved her too. They were still newlyweds and in the Period of Adjustment! She would have REALLY had to WORK with him and he was resistant and so she just lost patience. I admire her, though, for trying to get him to remarry her. She obviously realized (too late) that she may have acted too hastily and later wanted to stick with him through thick & thin. Yeah, Michael (like a lot of husbands) was treating her miserably (at times) during the marriage, but she was even MORE miserable without him! I hope LMP has since found a decent husband and father for her children that makes her (and them) happier and more fulfilled now. NO marriage is PERFECT, Lisa! Live and learn, girlfriend.
I think a lot of her motivation in chasing him was to get even with Debbie Rowe. Notice how she lied and said she left the marriage to protect her children? The why did she drag them with her all over the place?
She couldn’t take that he was moving on. It was so much out of love because she tried to get her 1st husband back.
She wanted the last word. As for nine children. She had a chance and still didn’t give him children. She never intended too. He did the right thing.
Alot of people are bigger than Lisa. But only because they have chosen to do something other than marry, divorce and complaining about ex’s.
I don’t think that Lisa loved Michael and Michael didn’t love Lisa
Lisa should leave this alone, but it shows how reckless and selfish she really is.
I think they loved each other as much as they hated each other,for a big time!
They loved each other at one point. But both moved on one was so spoiled and use to having things her way she wanted the sympathy card when she was just as much to blame as him.
He got over her and moved on wonderfully.
Michael loved Lisa very much !even though Lisa got her own kids,still he married her. That’s TRUE love!! Believe me it’s not a easy decision to make for anyone! Only LOVE can drive a person (a very very Rich person ) to make that kind of decision. I love them both and I still do,
I never thought that Michael would ever wanted her to be out of his life,ever, although he had been moved on his life . I wondered if he might had been waiting for her to get back together again…Because he only wanted to has his own
kids and he taught his children they don’t have Mother..in a way ..it makes me think that he was waiting for Lisa’s answer weather or not they could be together as a normal couple again..
Michael was through with her. He had moved on and had his kids and got some happiness. It was not a fairy tale, but a mistake and he learned. It was nice for a very short time but he found out and so did she that it was a mistake. The kids knew they had a mother, but she was not active in their lives. The kids were gifts and were treated as such.
