Annie Lennox, Bob Geldof, Brad Pitt, Dido, George Michael, Madonna, Mariah Carey, Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Sir Elton John, Sting, and UB40 performed at the Live 8 London concert on July 2nd at Hyde Park in London, Great Britain. Live 8 was a string of benefit concerts that took place in the G8 states and in South Africa. The Bob Geldof organized event was also timed to precede the G8 Conference and summit held at the Gleneagles Hotel in Auchterarder, Scotland.
