I don’t think she’s sold more than Mariah, she might me close, but Celine Dion is closer. If Madonna sold that many, than everyone would have acknowledged her the way they have been Mariah. Mariah has gotten every top honor and award for being the Best Selling Female artist ever. Plus its been said that Mariah has sold 200 million in just singles so she is way ahead of Madonna. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Madonna was always ahead of Mariah when it came to album sales. Mariah started calling herself the best selling artist because she added totals for single sales in with the albums sales. Madonna did not do that. No one ever called Mariah the best selling artist but Mariah just like how Michael Jackson called himself the King Of Pop and made sure that’s how people referred to him.

I can’t believe someone actually wasted their time and posted the stupid press-release. It’s stating the EXACT same thing that people were arguing about yesterday, with NO numbers to back it up at all. I just love how ALL OF SUDDEN, Madonna’s sales have increased from supposedly 200 million to 250 million in a matter of months?? Even Madonna’s fans on this board at here and said that Madonna is ALMOST at 200 million, now their saying she’s at 250 million, where did that MAGICAL 50 million come from? At least with Mariah’s figures they are close to what she claims. Mariah and her people say that Mariah has sold over 150 million albums around the world, and this is the wrap-up: 1. “Mariah Carey”- 19 million sold 2. “Emotions”- 12 million sold 3. “MTV Unplugged”- 9 million sold 4. “Music Box”- 28 million sold 5. “Merry Christmas”- 15 million sold 6. “Daydream”- 23 million sold 7. “Butterfly”- 16 million sold 8. “#1’s”- 15 million sold 9. “Rainbow”- 9 million sold 10. “Glitter”- 2 million sold 11. “Greatest Hits”- 2.5 million sold 12. “Charmbracelet”- 4 million sold Now that comes to about 153 million albums sold, EXCLUDING all her singles she released, which have sold MILLIONS around the globe and her latest compilation CD “The REmixes”. Madonna fans can keep pulling numbers out of their asses all they want, Mariah’s numbers MATCH what she’s actually sold. Next thing you know their say she’s also an Oscar winner too.

Mariah’s sales for selling over 150 million albums EXCLUDES her singles. If you were to add her singles to her current worldwide total, it would probably be about 190 million records sold. Madonna and her people can twist facts around all they want, it doesn’t change the fact that ALL OF SUDDEN, she’s sold another 50 million that no one knows where it came from. HA HA HA HA!! Right, Madonna!

The newest figures have Madonna selling 250 Million, even if you lowball it to the previous figure of 200 Million it’s still miles away from Mariah’s sales. Madonna has sold at least 50 million more albums than Mariah.

Mariah may be up to 160 by now, these are just the numbers I got from awhile back. The only really recent sales are the ones of “Charmbracelet”, that passed 4 million around the time her tour was on the road, so it may be more then that. And I’ve also read on a few other sources that “Glitter” is up to 3.5 million now, but I just used 2 million because that’s what it was last time Mariah spoke on it in the beginning of 2002. As far as the older albums go, I got those numbers almost 3 years ago so it’s probably higher now.

Madonna’s sales figures DO include her singles, Mariah’s does not. Mariah has 2 albums that have passed over 20 million around the world, and her debut album is almost at 20 million also. If you added Mariah’s singles to her album tallies, it would be higher then Madonna’s. I don’t know in fact how many copies of each of her singles sold, so I’m not gonna sit here and pretend like I do, but I know that both “Hero” and “One Sweet Day” alone, both sold over 2 million each in the US, and MILLIONS around the world. “Through the Rain” was one of the best selling singles last year in the US. Either way, this is getting repetitive and boring. I can throw ACTUAL numbers at you all day, and you can sit there “claiming” until your blue in the face, we aren’t gonna change each others mind. Let’s move on.

I never once thought of Mariah selling more than Madonna. By the end of 2000, after Rainbow, she was said to sold more than 150, 000, 000 copies, but then again, many sources have said that Madonna has exceeded the 190X mark… Plus, she has sold more than Mariah in the US, and surely worldwide.. Madonna’s catalog is far more impressive than Mariah’s, but come on, Britney will wipe both their asses in just a few years. She’s already close to 60 million with only 4 albums. lol. Just kidding.
