Madonna Befriends Canadian Teen Who Died Sunday

The Windsor Star reported Wednesday that Kerri Yascheshyn, 17, from this Canadian border city, died of liver cancer Sunday. Madonna had been calling the terminally ill teen daily since late January, chatting about everything from dancing to the afterlife. The first call had been arranged by the Make-A-Wish Foundation, but Madonna kept in touch. She sent the teen books and a case of what she called “healing water.”
