Susan Wloszczyna of USA Today profiled the film career of Madonna with the Friday release of ‘Swept Away’, and how the singer/actress has been regularly slammed for her film work. Asked why Madonna bothers with continuing to try establishing herself as a credible actress, J. Randy Taraborrelli, author of ‘Madonna: An Intimate Biography’, commented, “She’s very ambitious. It’s more than ego. It has to do with the expansion of her artistry. It’s something she has to do for herself. She wants to make an offering of it. The problem is what challenges all icons. She has such a strong personality, it’s hard for her to be anything but Madonna.” Read more.
