Billboard Magazine, issue date March 3, reports Madonna earned $175,143,644 in 2006. Madonna delivered her 10th studio album, the Grammy Award-winning “Confessions on a Dance Floor,” in late 2005. The disc debuted in the pole position of The Billboard 200 and went on to spend 30 weeks on the chart in 2006. According to Nielsen SoundScan, “Confessions” has sold 1.6 million units in America. In May 2006, Madonna kicked off the Confessions Tour, which was the top-grossing tour ever by a female artist and grossed slightly less than $195 million, according to Billboard Boxscore. Shortly after the tour commenced, Madonna became the worldwide spokesmodel for global retailer H&M.
