The New York Daily News reports that Madonna may show up for the opening of her photography show at Deitch Projects in SoHo on Thursday. ‘Ecstatic Process’ is based on photos taken of her by Steven Klein for W magazine. The exhibition space, designed by Giuseppe Lignano and Ada Tolla of LOT/EK architecture, will feature large moving projections of the photos. ‘Ecstatic Process’ is also a song on Madonna’s album ‘American Life,’ due out next month.
London Community Gospel Choir On Madonna Track
March 20, 2003 – MTV.co.uk reports a track thought to be titled ‘Nothing Fails’ on Madonna’s new album, ‘American Life’, features the London Community Gospel Choir. A spokesperson for the choir, that have previously worked with Blur and Elton John, said of Madonna: “She was very warm, very pleasant and very professional.”
Madonna’s Children Book Plans Enrages Experts
March 20, 2003 – Globe magazine reports Madonna’s plan to write children’s books has enraged experts. Martha Kleder, a spokeswoman for the Culture and Familyi Institute in Washington, D.C. says, “This is almost like having Jeffrey Dahmer writing a cookbook.” Ed Vitagliano of the American Family Association added, “As Madonna’s audience gets older, they may want to explore her other material, which could be detrimental. Our hope is that parents have enough sense to choose authors who have a positive influence on their children.”

March 17, 2003 – Madonna tells W magazine that she is no fan of awards shows, and claims that’s the real reason behind her last-minute cancellation at the Golden Globes this year. “I wanted to hang out with my kids,” she said. “On my list of priorities, it wasn’t that important. I have a hard time with award shows. They’re just dumb. They’re just fashion shows and ratings for TV and they don’t mean anything.”
‘American Life’ Is Like Waking From A Dream
March 15, 2003 – MTV UK reports Madonna has likened her new album ‘American Life’ to waking from a dream. “All of these songs reflect my current state of mind. I feel like I have just woken up out of a dream,” she said. “They range from dismay and anger to joy and certainty.
