Male Pop Stars: The Gay Ratio
One of the constant issues with male pop stars is the ‘is he gay?’ questioning. The results of last month’s search queries on pay-per search engine Overture.com though suggest it isn’t a huge issue with searchers. We tracked down the ratio of normal searches vs. ‘[singer name] gay’ searches, to figure out who is most associated with being homosexual.
Because of the 25 search minimum, only 10 singers made the threshold in order to compute this ratio. Topping the list is the only one who is openly gay, ‘Pop Idol’ winner Will Young, with a .01276 gay ratio. Second was Ricky Martin (.01057), while the singers least associated with being gay were Enrique Iglesias (.00068) and Michael Jackson (.00020). For a complete list of the nine stars, including *NSYNC’s Justin, Lance, and JC, and Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter, read on.
