So very nice!… Just got back from the last of the radio tour. Only to get set for the REAL tour starting on the 18th in Portland. I am beyond excited about doing this hitting the road. A band I love so much and music I am dying to perform over and over again to somehow make up for lost time – if that makes sense.
We played a party at my good friend Ed’s house the other night in DC and had such a blast (side note: Ed was up with us in Woodstock during the making of the record and played the inaudible spoons). Anyhoo, none of the party guests knew much about the record but it ended up being an awesome night and everyone seemed really into our impromptu performance…..Made me feel like we have a good thing going and it will only get better on the road. Check out the tour dates on the sites and I hope I see you out there. Paula Cole is going to be awesome as is Chris Stills who is opening for us with a great little acoustic set.
There are a few dates (nine, to be exact) that Paula wont be able to do so I invited my dear friend, Rachael Yamagata (YES!) to come out and join for that period. I think those dates are August 30 thru September 9. As you know, she is one of my all-time favorite people ever. Her new record isn’t out yet but it will seriously blow your mind–so you gotta come check her out!
We just finished the Oxygen Network Special that is Premiering on August 14. I love it! It really captures what the last 6 months have been like for me. It’s actually exhausting for me to watch as it brings back so many memories and reminds me of how hard we have been working. However, it has all been worth it and there is so much more to come. Would love you guys to check the show out. It’s called, “I Am Mandy Moore,” (I didn’t title it!) but its a fun look at the inside of what goes on. As you know, I’m a pretty private person but I let my guard down a lot more than ever before (or ever will in the future) for this show.
We just did a segment for the E! Channel yesterday on the Fall and Holiday lines of the new Mblem. launch. The response has been amazing and so many of my favorite places to shop are going to be carrying the line. It has been a while in the making but this is the big launch for us. I’m gonna be rockin’ the Mblem. on the road and it wont be long before it’ll be in stores for you to check out…
I thought I had a Few Days Down but I got offered to guest star on the Season Premiere of “How I Met Your Mother” and there is no way I could pass that up– the show’s hilarious. I’m a bit nervous but mostly excited, as it’s the perfect opportunity to play someone a bit unlike myself……we’re taping it next week and it airs sometime mid September.
“Dedication” is coming out this month – I can’t believe its already August…Man alive! The premiere is going to be in NYC and the film opens as a limited engagement in NYC and LA on August 24th. It goes wide on September 14th. I’ve said it before but i’ll say it again: I am so proud of this film and in such awe of the actors I got to work with. I think you can check out the trailer on iTunes…
