Mandy Moore Adds More ‘Coverage’
June 28, 2003 – Mandy has posted more new songs from her forthcoming ‘Coverage’ album, including a cover of Carly Simon’s ‘Anticipation’ and Joe Jackson’s ‘Breaking Us In Two’. On the Simon hit, Moore commented, “This is probably the song that I was the most familiar with, even before the ketchup commercial. But again I didn’t know much about Carly Simon. I’m still learning about all these artists, But I’m interested to read biographies and find out where they were born and what was going through their heads when they were writing their music and what struggles they went through. I like the stories behind the music. I love the passion in her voice when she sings.”
Mandy Moore Finds Herself As A Brunette
June 22, 2003 – Entertainment Weekly is featuring Mandy in their It List, as an It Crossover. The mag has a pair of photos featuring Moore showing off her dark brown roots, promising never to go back to blonde. “I’ll never go blond again,” she said. “As cheesy and insignificant as it is to say that you’ve found yourself in a new hair color, it’s the truth.”
Mandy Moore Checks In On New Forum
June 19, 2003 – Mandy checked in with fans on her official website message board earlier this month while shooting a new film in London. She revealed, “The record is done and ‘How to Deal’ is on it’s way on the 18th of July. I’m leaving the set for a few days to attend the nyc premiere on July 16th and hang with friends and family who’ll be there for the event. Very excited!!! On a bit of a sadder note—my gram passed away at the begining of April. It was and has been a very tough time for my family, but we’re managing to power ahead. Thank you to all of you for your kinds thoughts and prayers. It meant alot to my family and to her. Everything else is pretty much the same.”
Mandy Moore Performs Blondie’s ‘One Way Or Another’
June 17, 2003 – The latest preview clip from Mandy’s new album ‘Coverage’ is the Blondie hit ‘One Way Or Another’. Mandy writes, “I was intrigued by Debbie Harry after working with her on the film, ‘Try Seventeen’. Everyone had told me as much as they could about her but I had to dive into her music and see for myself. This song completely stood out. I definitely had to have the New Wave flava on this record. I wouldn’t say I’m a huge all-out Blondie fanatic but I knew that I loved this song. This was one of the last songs we recorded and I just knew that the record needed something from this era.” Audio has since been removed.
