Mariah Carey Channels Marilyn Monroe

Variety reports Mariah Carey will make her theatrical debut in a London stage production of Terrence Rattigan’s romantic comedy ‘The Sleeping Prince,’ the basis for 1957’s ‘The Prince and the Showgirl’ starring her idol Marilyn Monroe as a ditzy American dancer who falls in love with European royal Laurence Olivier (he also directed the flick) in London. “Mariah wants to get rid of the glitz and tassels,” said the project’s producer Bill Kenwright, who is mum on tbd male lead. “She wants to be an actress. She’s not this diva.”
