Mariah Carey checked in with fans on her Twitter (@mariahcarey) earlier this evening after performing ‘I’ll Be There’ by The Jackson 5 at the Michael Jackson memorial in Los Angeles. Mariah tells readers:
Just recovering from the day. Still filled w/sadness as we listen to KJLH in LA(Stevie Wonder’s radio station) paying tribute to MJ. Trying to sing today was basically impossible for me. I could barely keep myself from crying. I’m sorry that I wasn’t able to pull it together and really do it right, but I was literally choked up when I saw him there in front of me. One thing I know is, we will never really have to say goodbye to MJ. His legacy lives on through his music and the millions of people he inspired with his timeless music. He will be forever in our hearts.
Watch the performance below.

Mariah Carey is losing her voice. She needs vocal training and healing. Mariah has ALWAYS been able to sing this song. We LAMBS are tired of the excuses and studio tricks she’s been using. She’s never been a good live performer, but she usually does LIP the hard parts to give the impression she still can sing. Very disappointed in her live performance here, and also elsewhere. Mariah get that voice together. YOU ARE DISAPPOINTING US LAMBS
what a 2 face Mariah is!
She was AGAINST Michael, defending Mottola, her ex husband when MJ called him a racist.
Shame on you Mariah!
Mariah is the nicest person you could ever meet but don’t let this fame all to your head even though it has already.
